How does a photo session work?

Once we decide on a date, the session fee is required as a deposit in order to reserve your spot. The photo session itself will consist of some posed images, however I mainly focus on getting natural images of families and children interacting together.

Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?

For newborns and babies I have a home studio. For Children and family sessions I photograph outdoors using natural light. The location of the photo session is entirely up to you, however if you need suggestions, I’ll let you know about some of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh.

What payment options do you take?

I currently accept cash, check and Paypal.

What should we wear?

It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. Layers and textures look great in photos. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye, but most important wear what’s comfortable and what you feel really good in.

What should we bring?

For family and children photo sessions: outfit changes, a drink, favorite toy, special stuffed animal.

When is the best time to photograph my newborn, baby, family?

The best time of day to schedule a photo session is 1-2 hours before sunset. Timing is more flexible for other locations that have shade such as parks or indoor sessions.

Newborns are best photographed within the first 4-14 days after birth, this improves our chances of having a sleepy snuggly newborn.

Children have no set time to be photographed, but please do your best to make sure your little one has napped and eaten prior to our session, and definitely bring along small non messy snacks.

When will I see the photos?

I know that you are anxious to see your images! Galleries will be ready for viewing within 2-4 weeks for family sessions and 1-2 weeks for Newborns. Once your gallery is ready you will receive an email with instructions on how to view your gallery from the privacy of your own home.  You will have two weeks to place your order before your gallery will expire.
